Teaching Topic: PEACE Restoration
publish 20-09-2026-sunday, (Matthew 11:28) “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
PEACE
Different desires and pressures will disturb the heart, and how the heart is restored when we return to Christ (past), His Word, and the leading of the Holy Spirit (present).
Isaiah 26:3- “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. Isaiah 26:3”
How Do I Lose My Peace? — And How Does Christ Restore It?
Peace is not merely the absence of problems; it is the presence of trust in God in the midst of problems.
1. GREED — When “More” Becomes More Important Than God, you lost your peace here, how?
1.1. Greed begins when what I have is no longer enough for my heart.
1.2. I begin comparing, accumulating, worrying about what I do not have.
1.3. Constantly thinking about what I need to gain.
1.4. The heart moves from “God is my provider” to “I must secure everything for myself.”
1.5. The more I pursue more,
1.5.1. The more my mind becomes occupied with more.
1.5.2. Even when I receive something, peace does not necessarily come—because the heart immediately asks, “What is next?” Luke 12:15- “Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.”
1.6. The heart of Christ Jesus teaches us:
1.6.1. Our value and security do not come from possessions.
1.6.2. His heart calls us away from anxiety and toward trust in the Father. Matthew 6:25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?
1.7. Revelation of the Holy Spirit:
1.7.1. Greed does not only desire possessions. It slowly teaches the heart to trust possessions instead of God.
1.8. The Holy Spirit brings us back to contentment: 1 Timothy 6:6 “But godliness with contentment is great gain.”
Note: Peace begins to return when you realize: “you do not need everything to be secure; you need God.”
2. JEALOUSY — When Someone Else’s Blessing Disturbs Your Heart you lost your peace here, How?
2.1. Jealousy begins when I compare my life with someone else's.
2.1.1. Someone receives recognition,
2.1.2. Success,
2.1.3. Ministry growth,
2.1.4. Wealth,
2.1.5. Relationship,
2.1.6. Opportunity—and instead of rejoicing, my heart asks: “Why them and not me?”
2.2. Comparison steals gratitude. Their blessing becomes my disturbance. Proverbs 14:30 “A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones.”
2.3. The heart of Christ Teaches us:
2.3.1. Does not measure your worth by another person's portion.
2.3.2. His heart calls you to:
2.3.2.1. Love.
2.3.2.2. Rejoice.
2.3.2.3. Remain faithful to what God has entrusted to you.
2.4. Revelation of the Holy Spirit Teaches us:
2.4.1. Jealousy begins when I look sideways instead of looking toward Christ.
2.4.1.1. “Run your own race faithfully. What God has entrusted to another person does not diminish what He has entrusted to you.”
Note: Peace comes when you can sincerely say: “Lord, I thank You for what You are doing in my life, and I trust You with mine.”
3. LUST — When Desire Rules the Heart, you lost your peace here, How? (know the difference between Desire and Lust) Psalms 37:4 (promise) ”Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”
3.1. Lust begins when a responsible desire becomes an uncontrolled desire that takes authority over the heart.
3.2. Instead of allowing God to govern my desires, I allow my desires to govern me.
3.3. Lust will create:
3.3.1. Secrecy
3.3.2. Fantasy
3.3.3. Guilt
3.3.4. Shame
3.3.5. Temptation
3.3.6. Inner conflict, the heart becomes divided. 1 John 2:16 “For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world.”
3.4. The heart of Christ Teaches us:
3.4.1. Jesus calls you to purity, not only outward your behaviour, but purity of your heart. Matthew 5:8 “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.” His heart does not merely condemn (warning) the struggling person; Christ calls the person into (the Grace of) freedom and transformation.
3.5. Revelation of the Holy Spirit Teaches us:
3.5.1. Lust promises satisfaction but produces restlessness.
3.5.2. The Holy Spirit teaches us that freedom is not found in satisfying every desire.
3.5.3. Freedom is found when our desires come under the Lordship of Christ. Galatians 5:16 “So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.”
Note: When Christ governs your heart, Lust no longer becomes your master. But you will learn to allow GOD to control your desire. Psalms 37:4 (promise) ”Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”
4. HEALTH — When Fear About your Body Steals Your Peace you lost your peace here, How?
4.1. Health concerns can cause the mind to constantly think:
4.1.1. “What if something happens?”
4.1.2. “What if I become sick?”
4.1.3. “What if my future of my health affected?
4.1.4. Concern can gradually become fear, and fear will occupy the place where trust should be.
4.1.5. This does not mean we should ignore health problems or avoid medical care. We can care responsibly for our bodies while still trusting God. 1 Peter 5:7 “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”
4.2. The heart of Christ Teaches us:
4.2.1. Jesus showed compassion toward people who were suffering.
4.2.2. His heart is not indifferent to human weakness and pain.
4.3. Revelation of the Holy Spirit Teaches us:
4.4. Faith does not mean pretending that nothing is wrong.
4.5. Faith means bringing what is wrong into the presence of God.
4.6. “I can care for my body without allowing fear to control my heart.”
Note: Your circumstances may be uncertain (not knowing), but God's presence is certain (knowing).
5. WEALTH — When Financial Security Becomes My Security, you lost your peace here, How?
5.1. Money can become a source of peace when you have it—and a source of fear when you do not.
5.2. You begin thinking:
5.2.1. “What will happen if I lose this?
5.2.2. “Do I have enough?”
5.2.3. “How can I get more?” The problem is not wealth itself. The danger comes when wealth becomes the foundation of our security instead of God. Matthew 6:21 “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
5.3. The heart of Christ Teaches us:
5.3.1. Jesus teaches us to place your treasure in what is eternal.
5.3.2. Rather than allowing earthly possessions to control your hearts.
5.4. Revelation of the Holy Spirit Teaches us:
5.4.1. Money can be in your hand without being on the throne of your heart:
5.4.1.1. Contentment (satisfaction)
5.4.1.2. Generosity (happy to give)
5.4.1.3. Stewardship (being responsible)
5.4.1.4. Trust (trust the word if GOD) and give. Hebrews 13:5 “Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” (Prophecy September-2026)
Note: My wealth may change, but God's faithfulness does not.
6. RELATIONSHIP — When People Become the Source of My Peace, you lost your peace here, How?
6.1. Relationships can deeply affect our hearts.
6.1.1. When I depend on another people:
6.1.1.1. approval
6.1.1.2. attention
6.1.1.3. love, this behaviour to determine my peace, I become emotionally controlled by that relationship, then:
6.1.1.3.1. Their words affect me.
6.1.1.3.2. Their silence affects me.
6.1.1.3.3. Their rejection affects me.
6.1.1.3.4. Their acceptance becomes my security, but remember a human relationship will always change.
6.2. The heart of Christ Teaches us:
6.2.1. Jesus loved people deeply, yet His relationship with the Father remained the foundation of His life.
6.2.2. He knew where He came from, whom He belonged to, and what He was called to do.
6.3. Revelation of the Holy Spirit Teaches us:
6.3.1. People can be a blessing in your life, but they were never created to become the foundation of your peace.
6.3.2. Love people without making them more than our God. Psalm 62:1 “Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him.”
Note: When Christ becomes the foundation of my identity, I can love people without becoming enslaved to their approval.
THE GREATER REVELATION: WHERE OF YOUR PEACE?
Greed → say no to “I need more.”
Jealousy → say no to “I need what they have.”
Lust → say no to “I need to satisfy this desire.”
Health → say no to “I need to control my future.”
Wealth → say no to “I need financial security.”
Relationship → say no to “I need their approval.”
But the Holy Spirit brings the heart back to one answer: “I NEED CHRIST.” Philippians 4:7 “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Statement:
Peace is lost when something created becomes more important to my heart than the Creator. Peace is restored when Christ returns to His rightful place in my heart.
Perhaps:
“When I stop asking the world to give me, what only Christ can give, my heart begins to rest in Him.” (Matthew 11:28) “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
